WordCamp Athens 2020 will be hosted at Athinais Cultural Center. The entire day will be filled with a variety of networking activities, presentations and workshops. This year’s schedule will be equally divided between the ground floor spaces, specifically in the Silk Rooms, Music Stage, Attic and the Museum area.

The venue is famous for its magnificent architectural design and also it’s accessible for all the people that wish to find a friendly environment no matter what their individual needs may be. Reaching the venue won’t be an issue because trains, buses and metro will bring you to our doors!

Bring along your friends, your kids, your colleagues or your laptop and join us. WordCamp Athens and WordPress Greek Community want to meet you. Feel free to come with your wheelchair or your white cane, because we would like to hear about your experience with WordPress, too!

WordPress isn’t only based on open source software but is built on open mind culture. We even have a well-structured Code of Conduct to prove that. Also, all previous WordCamps are statements of the WordPress community’s mentality.

Athinais Cultural Center

Athinais Cultural Center is located in Votanikos Area. It has been established as one of the top modern cultural centers in Greece. It stands out for its innovative design, advanced audiovisual equipment, excellent telecommunications infrastructure and unparalleled quality of services.

The venue often hosts business conferences, corporate presentations, scientific workshops and commercial fairs, as well as a wide range of social events. This year Athinais will be hosting WordCamp Athens 2020 and the Greek WordPress Community!

Access

Athinais Cultural Center is at 34-36 Kastorias Street, in the Votanikos area. Access to the site is easy as the Kerameikos Metro Station is just 650 meters (8 minutes) away. In addition, it is accessible by the following public transport options from all the neighborhoods of Athens and Piraeus:

By Metro: it’s only 8 minutes’ walk away from Kerameikos Station to the entrance of Athinais Cultural Center.
By Bus: from Piraeus take the bus line 049, get off at Palaia Agora bus stop, and walk for 11 minutes to the entrance of the venue. From other areas of Athens, the following bus lines: 026, 027, 813, 856, A16, will bring you to the bus stop Spirou Patsi which is only 2 minutes away from the venue.
If you wish to get to Athinais by taxi, the distance from Omonia Square is 2.5 kilometers and the fare ranges from 4-5 euros.

Most visitors reach Athinais from the following locations:

From the Airport, use the Metro and get off at Kerameikos Station. (Route time 40 – 45 minutes)
From the Railway Station, from Larisis Station change to Metro, get off at Metaxourgio and take a short walk. (Route time 20 – 25 minutes)
From Piraeus Port, use the Electric Railway and the Metro and get off at Kerameikos station. (Route time 30 – 35 minutes)

Parking

If you prefer to use your car that will require more time and patience from you. It may take some extra time to find an available parking spot on nearby streets. Otherwise, you can search for parking slots in some of the web apps through your mobile phone.

The Spaces

The Silk Rooms can accommodate approximately 400 seats, with state-of-the-art equipment and high aesthetics. The Music Stage has a capacity of 150 seats, while the rest areas can accommodate a large number of guests. The detailed schedule per room will be announced soon.

In addition, Athinais Cultural Center has been designed to satisfy the most demanding events and visitors with its open spaces, the stylish lobby, the Art Hall, the restaurant and the chic cafe. Undoubtedly, it’s the perfect location, fully equipped with high tech infrastructure and aesthetics that will embrace the vibes of our Conference.
