Ο Γιάννης Οικονόμου είναι senior software engineer με πάθος για τα πάντα γύρω από το web, τα συστήματα και το Open Source. Ως ιδρυτής στην Antithesis Group & TrustServers Hosting, ασχολείται περισσότερο από 15 έτη εξειδικευμένα με θέματα performance, κλιμάκωσης και αρχιτεκτονικής εφαρμογών web σε LAMP & LEMP stack.
Κάτοχος MSc στα Προηγμένα Πληροφοριακά Συστήματα του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, έχει διδάξει web development στην ανώτατη εκπαίδευση και κατέχει έμπρακτη εμπειρία δεκαετιών σε έργα πληροφορικής του δημόσιου και του ιδιωτικού τομέα, με ειδίκευση στις λύσεις web.
Τρέχει Linux από το 1995. Έμπρακτα υποστηρικτής του Open Source για αντίστοιχα χρόνια, το 2003 αποτέλεσε ιδρυτικό μέλος της πρώτης ανοιχτής κοινότητας τακτικών meetups γύρω από τον προγραμματισμό και την πληροφορική στην Ελλάδα. Έχει βραβευθεί για ομιλία του σε TYPO3Camp στην Βιέννη.
Giannis is a senior software engineer, passionate about everything around the web, it’s systems and open source software. As a founder of
Antithesis Group & TrustServers Hosting, he is deeply involved for more than 15 years in web development using open source technologies, expertized in performance, scalability and architecture of web applications on LAMP & LEMP stacks.
He is holding an MSc in Advanced Information Systems from University of Athens, has taught web development in higher education and has proven experience for decades on IT projects in the public and private sector, specialized in web solutions.
He runs Linux since 1995. Being an advocate of open source for a long time, he was a founding member of the first open community that organized regular meetups about coding and IT in Greece back in 2003 and he has been awarded for his speech on a TYPO3Camp in Vienna.
