A WordCamp, like the one in Athens, is a conference focused on WordPress – the world’s most popular website creation platform – as well as the technologies and professions related to the internet more broadly.
WordCamps are conducted in 120 countries around the world and they explore a variety of topics regarding WordPress-based projects, websites, blogs, plugins, and much more. Globally, WordCamps are supported by the WordPress Foundation, the official nonprofit organization with the goal to preserve the openness of WordPress. WordCamp Athens conference is approved and endorsed by the WordPress Foundation and WordPress Central.
Who is a WordCamp for
A WordCamp is for everyone involved with WordPress, at all levels and all degrees of knowledge, regardless of gender, origin, religion, height, weight, or any other human characteristic. It is aimed at every user or professional interested in staying informed about developments around WordPress and internet technologies: Web Developers, Web Designers, bloggers, journalists, Content Editors, Web Editors, Social Media managers, store owners, SEO experts, Digital Marketing Experts, students, and many other specialties. The conference brings together all the latest developments and skills being developed within WordPress, and aims to share all the latest news with the community. In addition, it offers networking and business development opportunities to all attendees.
WordCamps follow WordPress’s guidelines as it has been published at the official Code of Conduct and adopts diversity standards and accessibility requirements for all members and visitors.
Who organizes it
WordCamps are organised solely by volunteers. WordCamp Athens 2026 is organized by volunteers from WordPress Greek Community. Specifically, the community members participating in the organizing team and sharing the responsibilities of this year’s conference are presented on the relevant organizers page. We warmly thank them all for their contribution!

How is it funded
The WordPress Foundation is a valuable partner and supporter of this effort. As such, WordCamp Athens is partly funded by the official global sponsors and supporters of the WordCamp Foundation. A second part of its funding comes from local monetary sponsorships or service contributions from companies operating in Greece.
For this reason, sponsorship packages have been created, from which anyone interested can choose how they wish to support the conference. These packages are mutually beneficial and can bring a sponsor one step closer to the WordPress audience.
Finally, it is also funded through its tickets — that is, by all those attending, who in this way contribute to making this conference a reality in their city.
How can you attend it
At all WordCamps there is a ticket for entry to the conference, including meals and coffee breaks, at a small and affordable price. In addition to the conference, there is also a contributors day, for which there is no ticket and participation requires a special registration.
